Summer To-Be-Read List
Summer means the beach, sunshine, some swoony romance, and a lot of contemporaries for me! Don't get me wrong, I love my Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Dystopians, and those definitely have their own swoon-worthy moments (Aria + Peregrine, anyone?) - but something about summer equals contemporary. I tossed in 3 non-contemps just to mix it up (goin' crazy, I know!) a bit.
I also chose books that I actually own and have in my current possession and reach. While I'm excited for books that are coming out soon or ones I want to get my hands on, my TBR stack is freakin' out of control.

DeleteYou are in for a great summer of reading! We have Flirting in Italian and Second Chance Summer in common. And Shadow and Bone sounds fantastic too.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to get started on all of these! I've heard some mixed things about Flirting in Italian which makes me nervous, and Second Chance Summer is probably going to break me if all the reviews are right...but still can't wait to read them and find out myself!

So many great books on your list! I could easily read your list instead of mine. Monument 14 and My Life Next Door are on my list too. So many books... so little time.
ReplyDeleteShadow and Bone is SO unbelievably good! :D I absolutely loved it! And Unbreak My Heart is such a sweet summer romance, you'll love it! :) I just finished Flirting in Italian and let me warn you: it's not a standalone. Also, I got all ranty about the ending which left me going WTF???

Summer to me definitely means swoony romances and contemporaries as well and hopefully I'll be able to fit a bunch of them onto my list on top of all the sci/fantasy/paranormal. Speaking of, I totally forgot to add Meant to Be on my list. Definitely can't wait to read that in the summer, too! Great list! :)
ReplyDeleteEven though I have a laughably long list, I'd better go back and add Second Chance Summer to My List. I loved Amy and Roger's Epic Detour. I'll be so disappointed if this one isn't equally charming. I also recently read a review of Shadow and Bone and will be looking for it, too.

ReplyDeleteAll of the recent reviews for Monument 14 had made me SUPER eager for it. It sounds fantastic and, even though I told myself that I would hold off on buying too many books, I'll probably get it soon. I had some issues with The List, personally, but I still loved it and Siobhan Vivian's voice. She's definitely one of my favorite contemporary authors.

Unbreak My Heart looks awesome. I didn't know that Second Chance Summer was going to be a tear jerker, thanks for warning me!

Great list! I have a few of the same on my summer TBR list -- including Second Chance Summer. I have a feeling that it is going to be the BEST summer book of all time, but I'm waiting until our weather is a little more summer-esque, since reading that book in the rain just won't be the same!
