Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine,
meant to spotlight an upcoming release we are eagerly awaiting!
Dial Books, 395 Pages
Expected US Release Date: June 14, 2012
A gorgeous debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another
“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time.”
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?
A dreamy summer read, full of characters who stay with you long after the story is over.
----------------------Goodreads summary
I am so freakin' jealous of everyone with an ARC (anyone want to let me borrow? Or maybe trade?), because every review I've seen of this is absolutely RAVING about it. And it just sounds like the perfect contemporary, summer book to read on your porch with a glass of lemonade beside you. Plus, family and family life is such an interesting topic to take on in books because every situation is so unique. All I can think is that Tolstoy quote from Anna Karenina: "Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." Ugh...I want this NOW.

I am not a big fan of contemporary YA but I think I could give this one a try for that cover art alone! Where can I find that girl’s pretty dress? haha! This definitely sounds like a great summer read.
